Quiet and peaceful, caravan and camping ground situated in 5 acres of natural bushland. Clean amenities, disabled facilities, BBQ, NO SANDFLIES. On the main road on the edge of town. On site self contained caravan.

Cooktown Caravan Park opened for business in April, 2001. The park caters for caravans, camping, campervans and small bus groups. It has both powered and unpowered sites, nestled in a natural bushland setting. We have gone to great lengths to endeavour to keep the park as natural as possible.

The Amenities block is clean and very spacious. Facilities cater for Ladies, Gents and a Family Bathroom also has wheelchair access. The Laundry is also housed within this area. A BBQ area is set in amongst the trees at the rear of the Amenities Block. A General Store caters for basic necessities, some camping and fishing gear, a few little luxury items and souvenirs. We are also in one of the least affected areas of town for the mosquitoes and midge flies.

The Cooktown Holiday Park is currently going through complete refurbishment and upgrade. When completed in early 2005 the park will become a member of the Big 4 Caravan Group.

Upgrades include the following items :

• New amenity block, 14 unisex showers and toilets.

• Large camp kitchen and bar, overlooking a resort style pool

It’s location in the middle of town makes the Cooktown Orchid Travellers Park the ideal place to stay. There is a salt water pool and a well set up camp kitchen with hot and cold water for washing up, 2 electric BBQs, tables and chairs and a communal fridge. Powered and non powered sites are available and most sites have some shade.

Open fires may be lit in the BBQ pits provided. There is a coin operated laundry and a hills hoist for use by our customers. Pets are allowed at the discretion of the manager. The park is within walking distance of all the town facilities.

ENDEAVOUR FALLS TOURIST PARK

Endeavour Falls Tourist Park and fuel & convenience storee is located 32km NW of Cooktown on the road to Laura, Lakefield National Park, Hopevale, Cape Melville and Cape York. A beautifully landscaped park on the banks on the north branch of the Endeavour river.

We are close enough to Cooktown to enjoy its attractions as well as experiencing the quietness and tranquility of the Australian bush in self-contained comfort or camping in spacious, shady grassed sites. There is entertainment on 5 nights a week during the peak season (June-October), lots of day tours just minutes from the Den including waterfalls, abandoned mines, great fishing, national parks and excellent swimming in the croc free river at the rear of the hotel.
