Barradise Lodge is situated on the Endeavour River, 10 kilometres upstream from Cooktown.

This 350 acre property has a river front riparian zone about a kilometre long, attracting a host of bird and animal life. If you like fishing bring a rod or borrow one of ours.

The lodge is a contemporary Queensland homestead style building with cool wide verandahs surrounded by tropical gardens with a free form swimming pool.

All rooms have fans, split system air-conditioning and en suite but toilet facilities are shared. The pool has a cool tropical gazebo next to it. Breakfasts are great up here, you must try our mud crab omelettes with crispy bacon. Barradise Lodge is not suitable for children

Mungumby Lodge offers 10 spacious wooden bungalows with ensuite bathrooms and private patios. The bungalows are constructed seperately from each other and the main lodge building. The main building is spacious with open plan living areas right on the edge of the awesome Mungumby Creek and with direct access to our pool. All this is surrounded by large tropical gardens. We have no telephones in the rooms, however fax, email and message services are available. Television is not available due to location and available transmission. Nature is our entertainer.

Our guests enjoy great home cooking with daily menus, vegetarian meals and other dietry needs can be catered to but must be advised when booking. We can arrange picnic baskets for people heading on a walk for the day and have a fully licensed bar located in the main lodge.

Mungumby is surrounded by some very intricate and diverse Eco systems, during the day guests can take advantage of the numerous walking trails, exploring the adjacent World heritage listed rainforest and historic mining sites, secret waterfalls and jungle pools. To compliment the lodge, we also offer guided tours including guided bushwalking and 4wd adventures. Cooktown and our surrounding district has a wide range of tours and activities and we can help you to plan and book these tours or advise on some great self drive options.
